This digital painting (created using ArtRage 2 and GimpShop) depicts an innocent little "love triangle".

The quote displayed within the cartoon panel is from the great Russian writer Fyodor Dostoyevsky (1821-1881):

''It won't be the love of beauty that saves the world,
but the beauty of love.''

Dostoyevsky responded to new modern trends in philosophy that attacked the roots of our society, our love and our morality. His novels were very human and moving, and he wrote one of the first "detective" stories in literary history with his work "Crime and Punishment", which is one of my favorites.

This cartoon borrows a character ("Nelly") from the work of fellow Deviant John Su, who is one of my favorite DeviantARTists here on DeviantART. The crouching figure of Nelly was taken from the loading sequence of his Flash animation "Shoo Fly" ( [link] ), but not directly ... especially since I don't have a Flash editor. Using ArtRage 2, Nelly was re-drawn and colored. Nelly is used with John's permission.

I love the message you have put in this, but you also need to put in there a disclaimer about how that picture is not actually completely yours. You need to put in there that is an idea from flash animation. Thank you, becuase posting such a beautiful message is wonderful but the artwork is still not entirly your own.

There is indeed a mention that the character "Nellie" is taken from the work of DeviantARTist John Su with his permission, both on the artwork itself and in the text below it. The figure of Nellie was taken from the loading sequence of John Su's Flash animation "Shoo Fly", but not directly. She was re-drawn and re-colored. I did receive permission from John Su to use this character and others in my work.
